All About the Kern River

Thursday June 12, 2008
Our three-piece series on fishing the Kern River in California has been posted.

The Kern is one of my favorite fishers in the Golden State and is often the answer when folks ask me where I spend my summers fly fishing.

What makes the Kern so special is that it can be broken down into three or four different fisheries, five if you include Lake Isabella right in the middle of it all.

Here’s our main piece with some general background on the Kern River, followed by more specific breakdowns of the North Fork and South Fork/Lower Kern.
