But the card I appreciated the most was an old, beat-up Ted Williams card I found at a garage sale.
Williams, for those who don’t know, was the ultimate outdoorsman on top of being one of the greatest hitters off all time.
Come December, another legendary outdoorsman is scheduled to be featured on a trading card.
Fly fishing legend Lefty Kreh is featured in this year’s Donruss Americana Sports Legends trading card series, which, according to the company, "shines a spotlight on many sports that traditionally aren’t featured on trading cards."
"When Donruss called and asked me to be part of a trading card set that also included legends like Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Larry Bird and Joe Montana, it made me realize just how far fly fishing has come," Kreh said. "I'm really excited about this opportunity, its going to be fun seeing myself on an actual trading card."
Donruss will be releasing the Donruss Americana Sports Legends in December with five-card packs carrying a suggested retail price of $10.
Might make a good stuffing stuffer.
