A helpful fly shop could help turn a good fly fishing trip into an amazing one.
A couple fly fishing pointers here, a few go-to patterns there, and before you know it, a helpful shop could have you fishing like the resident pro.
Here's one entry in a series on my favorite fly fishing shops.
If you're ever in their neck of the woods, be sure to check 'em out.
Hole in the Wall Fly Shop

Brian MilneLocated in San Luis Obispo, Calif., Hole in the Wall Fly Shop is the place you want to be to soak up fly fishing knowledge about everything from angling for halibut along the coast to backpacking in for golden trout in the High Sierra.
And owner Britt Phillips is as nice a guy as you'll meet in this business.
He even posts his cell phone number on the Web site in case you really need some fly fishing equipment or help after hours.
Who does that nowadays?
Quotable
"I have so much enjoyed helping newcomers to the sports," Phillips said. "Casting, fishing and tying are such new skills, jargon and new friends. Contributing to their fun and joy is worthy of every second of my time."
