The perfection loop is typically used to create a loop at the butt end of the leader, which makes for quick and easy loop-to-loop connections. Use it with the nail knot and you’ll have a permanent end loop that makes for quick line changes.

Begin by making a single loop with the leader.
Step 2
Make a second loop in front of the original loop, holding the knot in place with the thumb and forefinger.
Step 3
This is where the knot gets tricky. Instead of using the end of the line, pull the second loop itself through the first loop with your right hand. Make sure the end of the line doesn’t slip free and lose its place.
