The sport of kayak fishing has really taken off over the past few years.

Don’t believe me? Type in “kayak fishing” in your favorite search engine and you’ll get more than a million hits.

Books have been written on the topic. Countless Web sites have been dedicated to the craft.

Now, the kayak companies themselves are cashing in, with hundreds of models claiming to be designed with the avid angler in mind.

Well, I got my hands on one of the first true fishing kayaks three years ago when I purchased an $800 Ocean Kayak Prowler 15 Angler Edition. At the time, it was the only sit-on-top kayak I could find that was made with saltwater anglers in mind.
