Christmas has come and gone and another successful year on the water is coming to an end.

That means that 2007 fishing license you have pinned to your lucky fishing cap is going out of style.

The 2008 fishing licenses have already gone on sale in most states and can be picked up at nearly every sporting goods store that has fishing gear, not to mention every fly shop in town. You also can pick up licenses online in some instances. Check our State Fish and Game Agencies page for more license information for your particular state. Licenses typically go on sale in December. Some states even offer a lifelong fishing license, although they're going to cost you.

Remember to pick up your new license and any necessary stamps and/or report cards before you hit the water in 2008.
