Back here in California, one of my favorite fly fishing waters in the Northern part of the state is the Yuba River.
Unfortunately, I've never been lucky enough to catch a salmon on the Yuba.
That said, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is offering naturalist-led tours on Saturdays in October to view the fall run of king salmon on the river.
I might just have to head up to Marysville and see one of these bad boys for myself.
The tours will be provided by the University of California Sierra Foothill Research and Extension Center.
Advance registration is being held at the CDFW website.
