As noted in an earlier piece, when storms like the one we're having on the East Coast this weekend shut down the fishing, we have two choices:
Either you watch fly fishing on the big screen. Or you travel to a fair-weather state and fish in warmer conditions this time of year.
Captains Vaughn Podmore and Bill Calhoun have decided to do both.
The fellow fly fishing guides not only fly fish off the coast of Orange County, Calif., but they've also starring in a film about their experiences as well.
"The Calico Syndicate" is a documentary that showcases saltwater fly fishing for calico bass and other species off the Southern California coast. The film was recently picked up by the popular Fly Fishing Film Tour that's currently traveling around the country and might just be coming to a theater near you.
See, there might just be rising fish to watch after all this winter.
