Fly Fishing Still Going Strong if You Know Where to Look

By January 21, 2013

Follow me on:

When there's frost on the windshield every morning, it can be tough to find the motivation to go fly fishing this time of year.

But there are plenty of regions out there that are still fly fishing well in January.

Arkansas is one of those regions, offering "plenty of fly fishing action" as the Tulsa World writes today about fishing the Little Red River.

As we've written previously, there's some great fishing throughout the year in Arkansas, on rivers such as the Little Red and White River out of Eureka Springs, Ark.

Arkansas had a number of other cities that have also been featured in the Top 10 of Field and Stream's ranking of the best trout towns, including No. 2 Mountain Home and No. 9 Guntersville.

So it just goes to show there is still some good fishing out there early in the year, you just have to know where to look.

Where are you fishing this year? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

Yes , it is true we have Great Fishing Here in N. Arkansas at the White River State Park , Bull Shoals,
These pristine waters have Walleye, Browns, Rainbows, and a Few Bass, (used to be called Green Trout, lol) , There is a Fantastic Book called Ozark Trout Tales, Steven Wright author, which directs Fisherman to many Locations throughout Arkansas. It also gives tips on what Bait ,Tackle and best methods to catch Trout and others. We noticed that the water is very clean and therefore the Fish taste delicious, yes we mostly catch and release . Happy Fishing !
