Americans Finish 8th at World Championships

The American fly fishing team finished eighth overall as a team at the World Fly Fishing Championships in New Zealand this weekend.

The seven-person team consisted of Anthony Naranja, Brett Bishop, George Daniel, Josh Stephens, Lance Egan, Mike Sexton and Scott Robertson.

Stephens was the top American individual finisher (20th), followed by Lance Egan (24th), Anthony Naranja (34th), George Daniel (38th) and Bret Bishop (51st).

Czech Republic won the team title, followed by host New Zealand and France. Canada finished ninth as a team.

2. New Zealand     7. Slovakia  
3. France          8. U.S.
4. Poland          9. Canad 
5. Italy           10. Finland
