Don't Let Jack Frost Get You Down

Wednesday January 9, 2008
Winter’s here and many of our favorite fly-fishing waters are frozen over and unfishable for a few months.

So while we wait for Mother Nature to thaw out, it’s a good time to prepare for the upcoming spring season.

It’s also a good time to start tying your favorite spring patterns. Try tying a handful of Muddler Minnows next time the winter nip has you down.

You also might want to start stockpiling new gear for the 2008 spring season. The International Game and Fish Association is hosting an online auction through Jan. 21 where anglers can find great deals on all sorts of fishing and marine equipment along with some nice vacation packages that could get you out of the cold and on the water right now. We also have plenty of links to good deals on our fishing for a bargain page.
