A Perfect Time for Surf Species

The days are getting shorter and so is your patience. Fingers are going numb from stripping line through ice-cold riffles. Fish seem to get more sluggish with every passing day.
But now is not the time to put your fly rod into hibernation. Not if you live near the coast and can catch a break from Mother Nature. In fact, the fall and winter months are the best time to fish for surfperch and other saltwater surf-zone species as noted in our latest update about fly fishing for barred surfperch.
